So Long..

To my some 30 followers, I have decided to take a break from the blog. I have come to terms that it is harder than it seems to come up with creative posts to keep people inspired. I have also realized that after a full day of work, I really do not want to sit at a computer, edit pictures and battle the color wheel (I have the 1st MacBook and it does not like to multitask). I will hopefully get inspired to come back and when that time comes, I will have a badass camera and a new computer! Thanks for all your kind words and for following me through my thrifting adventures, which I will still continue...

Sincerely,
Carey

Crushing Coral

I recently went out to California and before I went I got myself a little tan. Then the weather has been so freakishly hot that my skin's olive tones have stuck around. This means one thing, I can wear colors like coral that pop with a tan. It is important to wear colors that accentuate your complexion instead of washing you out. Have fun with color and play around with them on your lips and nails as well. I also think coral looks quite nice as my blog's background.

Full Bloom

Well, the story goes..my camera broke so I debated what to do..invest in an expensive, yet amazing camera or get another point and shoot? So I went a whole other route and happily purchased an IPhone and I am in love! As Sierra said, "It will change your life."

So what else has been going on since my last post and my big 3-0? I went out of my twenties with a bang..we will leave it at that!

I thought about quitting the blog, but my inner fashion/deal lover told me that I should keep on doing it as I really do love thrift store shopping and then telling everyone about it! I think it has become a part if me now..probably should add it to my resume.

I am loving this warm weather and the spring flowers and fashion that comes along with it. Flowers are in full bloom, they are even in my tea! These cherry blossoms in DC are so exquisite and quite peaceful. This is my first time seeing them so I am probably more excited than the next person, but they take my breath away when I am driving through the Tidal Basin along the Potomac River. Thank you Japan for your generous gift.

Back to the clothes aspect of Spring..I went to my trusty thrifty..appropriately called, B Thrifty to look for some spring trends and got these floral delights. 2 blouses and a shirt dress. I like to keep them flowy and airy with skinny jeans or tuck them in for a more polished look for work.

I also became a tea lover over night. I bought the most amazing tea at Teavana. I opted for the youthberry and wild orange blossom, but their selection was impressive. I also got German rock sugar. Hello, pop rocks in your tea, but they are actually good for you! I still dislike iced tea..not sure why? If you are reading this then you got to the end of my long-winded blog post of the day. Thanks ;)
Here some pictures to accompany all my thoughts.

Going Back To Cali

March is a big month for me as I reach a milestone birthday. We are heading back to celebrate with some of our east coast transplant-west coast friends and the anticipation is killing me. 30 is a big birthday and we have thrown some pretty amazing parties for our friends in celebration of theirs. There was Mexico and Big Bear and Medieval Times to name a few?! I love my San Diego family and cannot wait to see you! And eat fish tacos.

A Coat Affair

I thought that by leaving sunny San Diego behind that I would get a chance to experience Winter-and by that I mean- wear the 14 Winter coats I bought right before I left the West Coast and then upon arrival. On another note, I also saw the most perfect leather coat at a Salvation Army the other day. It pretty much was this $2,800 Balenciaga one seen on this pretty lady below...AND they would not sell it to me because it was missing the price tag. I tried to pull out the stops, "I am willing to pay top dollar! Why would you not want the sale? You are in fact a charity right? Wouldn't my money be going to help people in need?" Nothing worked. I am debating whether or not to hunt it down, because now it could be in a number of different stores, after it leaves the "pricing center". I lost that battle, but somehow I think I will be ok.

Coming Up Roses

Silk Shirt: Thrifted
Levi's Pants: Ross (also here)
Belt: Thrifted  (love this one)
Wedge Booties: Naturalizer

As you can see, I am kind of obsessed with this style shoe. I have found that they are the most comfortable "heeled" shoe I could ask for because I can wear them all day, to work and for play all while maintaining some height.
