Turning 13

These pants remind me of the palazzo pants that were ever so popular around the age of 13 for me. It also reminds me of visiting my sister, working at the Weathervane Clothing Store-ring any bells? So, the palazzo pants are back.?! I found these at Target and they are ever so comfy, airy and perfect for spring..hurry up spring!

Robbed It Blind

Well I didn't really steal anything, but it sure felt that way when I walked out with a pair of Joe's Jeans, Gap jeans, 7 For All Mankind corduroys and an American Eagle velvet skirt for $12 bucks. You can be as lucky too, you just gotta try thrift store shopping. If you do not feel comfortable wearing used clothes, you should still check some thrift stores out. There can be endless jewelry, purses, art, music, furniture and plenty of other treasures to be found as well. I found this handy website to use when I'm not familiar with an area or for you beginners. Its called the Thrift Store Shopper and it has thousands of thrift store locations across the country.

Its almost the weekend!
Bundle up and go for a nice hike, unless you live somewhere warm, then just go for a hike.

Bumble Bee

I have never really loved a yellow and black color combination. It always reminded me of a bumblebee, but what's wrong with a bumblebee? Other than the occasional sting, they are pretty unique creatures. I will definitely keep my eye out for bright yellows while out thrifting-a yellow blazer perhaps- to pair over a LBD? It a perfect combination to take you from winter to spring. Orange and black still hasn't won me over.

Put A Scarf On It

I noticed a lot of beautiful vintage scarves at the thrift store and a thought popped into my head... I should put my scarves near my purses so I can switch them out to add color and cheer to an outfit. It is inexpensive alternative to buying a purse and (as you can see above) there is probably an abundant amount of scarves at a thrift store near you.

Rest of outfit is mostly thrift store too!

What Winter?

Its been very warm winter in Virginia (thank goodness)! I still get heavy hearted when I see that it is 80 degrees in San Diego, but  it is gratifying that  I can wear cashmere sweaters and vests this time of year without strange looks.

Stripes Unite

I live near and work in our nation's Capital and frequent it often so we thought we would be different and venture to another state's capital. And so we took a ride up to Annapolis, Maryland, which is much different than Washington DC in its quaintness, cobblestone streets and small town feel. It was a cold and gray day so I added some color with a bold red cold and a clash of gingham and stripes.

Leopard Love

I love hanging out with my nieces. It is high on the priority list these day. They change so fast and get smarter by the second. My mother -in- law (their Mimi) has a love for leopard print and my 4 year old niece told me that I stole this coat from her closet! I love leopard too and I love pairing it with stripes and other prints for a purposeful clash of patterns and prints.
